Frequently Asked Questions

What grades does the app cover? Scale Practice currently covers ABRSM Grades 6, 7, and 8. Each grade includes the full set of scales and arpeggios from the ABRSM syllabus.

What does "Tricky" mean? During a practice session, you can flag any scale as tricky by tapping the flag icon. Flagged scales are saved on your device. From the grade selection screen, you can then start a focused session that only shows your tricky scales.

How do I clear my tricky scales? You can remove individual flags during a session, or clear all data by deleting and reinstalling the App.

Is this an official ABRSM product? No. Scale Practice is an independent study aid and is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or in any way connected to ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music). All content is based on publicly available ABRSM syllabi for educational purposes.

Does the app require an internet connection? No. Scale Practice works entirely offline. No data is sent to any server.

Which devices are supported? Scale Practice requires iOS 17 or later and runs on iPhone and iPad.
